pet-less woes
Yesterday wasn’t as terrible as it
could have been. Just as I was about to
fall into the pit of “my pet died today” depression, Bambi and The Peach drove
all the way up to Izzie’s house to bring me fried doughy bits of something
rolled in powdered sugar from NYPD Pizza, and they were delicious. I guess
Peaches was right about them being “comfort food”.
Soon we
got bored with freezing in the basement, and decided to do something to lift
the mood a little more. After much deliberation we settled on going to
Petsmart, which might not have been the best choice considering the recent
events, but whatever. We wandered around for about two hours talking about different
pet supplies and looking at the pets up for adoption, and inevitably wound up
in the reptile section to search out stuff to put in Peaches’ snake’s
cage. It made me sad to realize I no
longer have a lizard to spend money on, and the feeling of being officially
pet-less began sinking in.
I know
it might be too soon, but I really think I need another small pet; something I
can love on and call my own. I am not
ready for another iguana yet…but I have been thinking of something furry, like
a hedgehog, ferret, chinchilla, etc.
Ideally I would love to have a dog, but that won’t be a good idea until
I find an apartment and steady income.
Any pet
suggestions? Please let me know.
